Change the iTunes playlist view

iTunes 12 introduced a new view for playlists. I still prefer the old view (which is simple and easy to maintain). Fortunately, you can switch between the different styles, and it's very easy, although you need to know where the setting is:

  • Select the playlist you want to change the appearance of
  • In the selection bar (below the search box in the upper right), you'll see a drop-down: Playlist or Songs
  • Choose Playlist for the new view or Songs for the old view
